Westminster is an ancient school, tracing its origins to 1179 when the Benedictine monks of Westminster Abbey were required by Pope Alexander III to provide a small charity school.
Today it has 700 pupils from age seven to 18, with girls joining the boys for the sixth form and with a mix of day and boarding pupils.
Westminster is far from being a narrowly academic school but its academic side is immensely strong and highly successful. When boys and girls leave the school they emerge informed, articulate and well able to hold their own intellectually.
The David and Elaine Potter Foundation funds a number of bursaries to enable children from a range of backgrounds to take advantage of the opportunities that Westminster offers.
