The London Business School and the David and Elaine Potter Foundation have been associated for some years, the Foundation having funded the LBS’s Management Innovation Lab in its first two years.
In 2009 the David and Elaine Potter Foundation Term Associate Professor of Management Practice in Marketing and Entrepreneurship was established and Dr John Mullins appointed. Dr Mullins brings to this post his valuable research in emerging markets and his work on the development of better business models in entrepreneurial ventures as well as his award-winning teaching skills.
John said of the award: ‘I am delighted that the central role which research and teaching in entrepreneurship play in the School has been recognised through this term award. As David Potter knows so well, entrepreneurship is the driver of economic development worldwide, in both large economies and small. It is vital that our graduates leave us with entrepreneurial skills and mindsets in hand when they embark on the next stages of their careers. David and Elaine have been long-time supporters of the development of the School’s vibrant programme in entrepreneurship, and their generosity on this occasion will enable us to accelerate our efforts.’
