chinadialogue

chinadialogue is an active forum for dialogue with China on climate change and environmental issues, and is the only such website that is fully bilingual in English and Chinese.

The site publishes high quality and accessible articles on the climate and environment in China and elsewhere, drawing on experts from around the world, including a large number from China itself. It provides a daily environmental news service and weekly columns for some of China’s best environmental journalists.

A key feature of the site is the bilingual forum where all readers’ comments appear in both Chinese and English, and where readers are making the most of the opportunity to express themselves.

The articles are extremely varied in terms of subject matter and approach. On a typical day visitors can watch a film about a wind farm near Beijing – worth watching just for the presenters’ burst into rap, so inspired were they by what they saw – or find out why they should turn off their air conditioning units three minutes before leaving home. There are news articles, features and book reviews to read each day, and the site buzzes with exchanges of views and information.
